Hello,

In Ansible Tower 3.1.1 assuming you have a project\_dir/roles/requirements.yml Tower is supposed to use Galaxy to download the roles for you. The playbook installed by Tower 3.1.1 has the following task:

- name: fetch galaxy roles from requirements.yml
command: ansible-galaxy install -r requirements.yml -p {{project\_path|quote}}/roles/ --force
args:
chdir: “{{project\_path|quote}}/roles”
when: doesRequirementsExist.stat.exists and scm\_full\_checkout|bool

The scm\_full\_checkout variable is commented out a bunch of times in this playbook.

[root@ip-10-241-0-251 awx]# grep -r scm\_full\_checkout venv/
venv/tower/lib/python2.7/site-packages/awx/playbooks/project\_update.yml: #clone: “{{ scm\_full\_checkout }}”
venv/tower/lib/python2.7/site-packages/awx/playbooks/project\_update.yml: #update: “{{ scm\_full\_checkout }}”
venv/tower/lib/python2.7/site-packages/awx/playbooks/project\_update.yml: #clone: “{{ scm\_full\_checkout }}”
venv/tower/lib/python2.7/site-packages/awx/playbooks/project\_update.yml: #update: “{{ scm\_full\_checkout }}”
venv/tower/lib/python2.7/site-packages/awx/playbooks/project\_update.yml: #clone: “{{ scm\_full\_checkout }}”
venv/tower/lib/python2.7/site-packages/awx/playbooks/project\_update.yml: #update: “{{ scm\_full\_checkout }}”
venv/tower/lib/python2.7/site-packages/awx/playbooks/project\_update.yml: #checkout: “{{ scm\_full\_checkout }}”
venv/tower/lib/python2.7/site-packages/awx/playbooks/project\_update.yml: #update: “{{ scm\_full\_checkout }}”
venv/tower/lib/python2.7/site-packages/awx/playbooks/project\_update.yml: #checkout: “{{ scm\_full\_checkout }}”
venv/tower/lib/python2.7/site-packages/awx/playbooks/project\_update.yml: #update: “{{ scm\_full\_checkout }}”
venv/tower/lib/python2.7/site-packages/awx/playbooks/project\_update.yml: when: doesRequirementsExist.stat.exists and scm\_full\_checkout|bool

What do you need to do to turn scm\_full\_checkout to true to Tower will download the roles defined in the requirements.yml?

Thanks,

Jonathan
