# Ansible-lint new release 4.0.0

On Monday 17 Dec 2018 we plan to release ansible-lint 4.0.0

This is the first release since Ansible became the maintainer, see [Oct 22nd mailing list post](https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/ansible-project/ehrb6AEptzA) for details.

The changes are summarized in the repository [roadmap](https://github.com/ansible/ansible-lint/blob/master/ROADMAP.md), and include:

- New Documentation site [docs.ansible.com/ansible-lint](https://docs.ansible.com/ansible-lint/)

- New rules were added, the full set of rules are listed in the docsite’s [default rules](https://docs.ansible.com/ansible-lint/rules/default_rules.html)

- Fixed running with role path containing single or multiple dirs

- Fixed double sudo rule output

- Packaging and repository updates

- Severity property added to rules to be used by Galaxy

If you wish to run this now, you can install from source via the [readme](https://github.com/ansible/ansible-lint/blob/master/README.rst).

Future changes planned for 4.1.0 are listed in the [roadmap](https://github.com/ansible/ansible-lint/blob/master/ROADMAP.md), including improvements on skipping rules/tasks, and to allow rules to check file presence. Community feedback is welcome.
