# Ansible :  ERROR! Decryption failed

Hi ,

I am a newbie to ansible

When i try to run the ansible-playbook i am getting a decryption failed error

[root@localhost infrastructure]# ansible-playbook -i /home/swathi/Desktop/infrastructure/production/ec2.py vertica\_role.yml  
ERROR! Decryption failed on /home/swathi/Desktop/infrastructure/production/group\_vars/all/vault.yml

ansible --version  
ansible 2.2.0.0  
config file = /home/swathi/Desktop/infrastructure/ansible.cfg  
configured module search path = Default w/o overrides

vi /home/swathi/Desktop/infrastructure/ansible.cfg

[defaults]  
filter\_plugins =./filter\_plugins  
roles\_path = ./roles  
sudo\_user = root  
host\_key\_checking = False  
retry\_files\_enabled = False  
vault\_password\_file = ~/password.txt

Please help!

Do you have the correct password in ~/password.txt  
That file should only contain the password and noting else.
